 The Montreal neighborhood of Ville Saint Pierre is in 2025 a food swamp.There is no grocery supermarket  there.However,there are several fast food restaurants and eateries on rue St.Jacques and some on rue des Erables.There are many convenience stores or corner stores in this neighborhood,and many poor residents of this neighborhood who do not have a car and cannot travel far to buy food apparently buy a lot of snacks and junk food from neighborhood convenience stores or eat fast food in local eateries.

 On Saturday,June 13,2026 in the afternoon I took the 170 bus from Cote Vertu metro which goes north on rue Decarie.I got off on rue Poirier at the intersection of Decarie.Then I walked on Painter Circle street .Then I went on Stanislas street and walked on Stanislas from one end to another.I walked on Chemin Laval briefly and went one block east of Stanislas street to come on rue de la Sorbonne.Then I walked along the entire length of rue de la Sorbonne from Chemin Laval to Boulevard Henri Bourassa where it ends.Rue de la Sorbonne and Stanislas street are notable for their quaint cottages and charming wartime houses.This was the first time I had walked on Stanislas street and rue de la Sorbonne.

            I also walked on rue de Londres from one end to the other for the first time in my life.I also walked the entire length of Cambridge Street that runs from rue Grenet to rue de Londres,for the first time ever.

                   I also walked the entire length of rue St-Cyr that runs from Cambridge Street to Chemin Laval,for the first time ever.

      It was a fun promenade,a successful walk.

 On Saturday,June 7,2026,I got off at Langelier metro.I walked on Sherbrooke Street from Langelier boulevard to Haig Avenue.Then I walked on Haig Avenue all the way from Sherbrooke Street to rue Notre Dame.Haig Avenue is a beautiful street lined with many nice houses and cottages and adorned with a lot of flowers in June.It is an underestimated street to live on.I walked on rue Notre Dame from Haig Avenue to Beauclerk Avenue and then walked up on Lyall street from rue Notre Dame to rue Ontario.Lyall street is cut off Ontario street because of the industrial park.So I went back on Haig Avenue and walked up to rue Hochelaga on Haig Avenue, passing Souligny Avenue.On rue Hochelaga I turned left and walked from Haight Avenue to Parkville Avenue.

              Then I walked along the entire length of Parkville Avenue for the first time ever from rue Hochelaga to the other end where it joins Boulevard Langelier after a curve.Parkville Avenue is lined with many duplexes,triplexes,multiplexes and small apartment buildings.

            From there I walked to metro Langelier,just a stone's throw away and went home.

This man very sadly died because of two fighting cats

 In August 2024,a 52 year-old  father of two named Christian Reeves tragically died in Rugby,Warwickshire due to fighting cats,though he was not trying to separate them.

         While riding his bicycle early in the morning on his way to work,two cats fighting in the street unexpectedly ran directly into his path.

            The fighting cats became entangled in his bicycle wheel,causing him to crash heavily onto the ground.

          Because he was not wearing a helmet,he sustained a severe brain injury.Despite undergoing surgery to relieve brain pressure,he passed a few days later on August 5,2024.Following his accident,his family publicly pleaded with cyclists to always wear a helmet.

Effective remedy for calming a burning mouth after eating hot peppers

         My own experience confirmed this today.I swallowed a. Scotch bonnet pepper imported from the Dominican Republic whole and thought it was going to be mild.But within 30 seconds of chewing it,my tongue started burning and it felt my mouth was on fire.I expelled so much mucus from my nose it was unimaginable.Instinctively to counteract the burning sensation in my mouth I drank a glass of water.But it did not work and my mouth kept burning.Then I instinctively reached for a tub of yogurt in my fridge and scarfed up half a bowl of yogurt.At first there was no positive effect but within five minutes of consuming a lot of yogurt the burning sensation in my mouth gradually subsided.
