Montreal neighborhood that is a food swamp

 The Montreal neighborhood of Ville Saint Pierre is in 2025 a food swamp.There is no grocery supermarket  there.However,there are several fast food restaurants and eateries on rue St.Jacques and some on rue des Erables.There are many convenience stores or corner stores in this neighborhood,and many poor residents of this neighborhood who do not have a car and cannot travel far to buy food apparently buy a lot of snacks and junk food from neighborhood convenience stores or eat fast food in local eateries.

          Wedged between Montreal West and Lachine,Ville Saint Pierre is an overlooked neighborhood and ignored by most;no major grocery chain has set up shop in this district and as a result local residents have no grocery supermarket to shop from within walking distance.
