Raccoon meat was once more consumed

Rebuilding the St.Anne's church in Toronto

 In June 2024 a major fire gutted the historic St.Anne's church in the Parkdale neighborhood of Toronto.A lot of historic artwork was lost in the fire,including murals by The Group of Seven Painters.

               However,three murals from the Group of Seven Painters and a cracked mosaic were salvaged from the blaze and were painstakingly restored in a process that took one year.

               Now the church is being rebuilt.What is sad that there are no plans to reconstruct replicas of the artwork that was badly damaged or destroyed.The lost historic artwork should be reconstructed or recreated in the best way possible.It is possible to almost create replicas of murals that were not salvageable.

My photo contributions from Facebook group unfairly erased

 I submitted and posted a lot of my original photos in the Facebook group ADDICTED TO GARDEN INg  in early and mid 2025.Many of my photos got a lot of likes;one photo got more than 500 likes 

                   Yet when I checked the group's archive a month ago all my early photos had been deleted,erased or suppressed and were not visible or retrievable.I am sorely disappointed and I wrote the moderator,asking them to restore my photos.I never heard from them.

           These groups are supposed to preserve history and not arbitrarily remove photos on a whim without justification.I read this has happened to others too .People should speak up and not let this slide by .

             Ironically there are several photos posted by others on The Facebook group ADDICTED To Gardening that are still there in the archive.

          Why is this happening?

 Ira Gallen ,a television and video archivist living in New York city was also a Facebook friend of mine.His Facebook account was hacked and the parent company Meta subsequently took down his Facebook account.

                     Ira Gallen was devastated and lost 5000 Facebook friends and hundreds of priceless posts.

                      I hope Ira Gallen somehow retrieves his lost Facebook account and all his posts.He poured a lot of energy and time into his Facebook account.

                    The public should push Facebook harder to make Facebook help retrieve users'  hacked Facebook accounts.Too many people 's Facebook accounts are being hacked.

McLennan Library of McGill going too far

 McLennan Library of McGill University in Montreal,the main  library of the university and its  social sciences library has stopped subscribing to all  print newspapers from around the world since two or three years.The librarians justify their decision  and say all newspapers are available online.

                    There are many library patrons,staffers and students who like to read print newspapers.However these people are out of luck because they cannot access paper newspapers in this library.If enough people protested this ,the library would reverse the decision.

 On Friday, November 14,2025 I had lunch at noon at Doaba,an Indian restaurant in Montreal at 5014 Avenue du Parc.Joseph Sohmer had invited you to lunch.

          I had a vegetarian thaali there with naan bread,Palak paneer,Channa masala and rice.Papadum was served with tamarind sauce as an appetizer.The meal was accompanied with mango lassi that was great.Overall,the meal was quite good.
