Rebuilding the St.Anne's church in Toronto

In June 2024 a major fire gutted the historic St.Anne's church in the Parkdale neighborhood of Toronto.A lot of historic artwork was lost in the fire, including murals by The Group of Seven Painters.

However, three murals from the Group of Seven Painters and a cracked mosaic were salvaged from the blaze and were painstakingly restored in a process that took one year.

Now the church is being rebuilt. What is sad that there are no plans to reconstruct replicas of the artwork that was badly damaged or destroyed. The lost historic artwork should be reconstructed or recreated in the best way possible. It is possible to almost create replicas of murals that were not salvageable.
