Connie Francis and her many struggles

 Singer Connie Francis very sadly died in July 2025 at the age of 87.Her later years were filled with struggle.

        Connie Francis was involuntarily committed 17 times to mental institutions over a period of nine years in the 1980s,across five different states.She was initially misdiagnosed with various conditions like manic depression,ADD and ADHD before diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.

        The trauma that led to her PTSD stemmed from a series of difficult events in her life.She was raped at knife point in a motel in New York .In  1981 her brother George Franconero Jr. to whom she was very close was murdered by mafia hitmen.George was an attorney who had testified against mob activity and refused witness protection.She also had a botched surgery that impacted her singing voice.

       The father of Connie Francis died in 1996 and after that she moved to Florida.
