Fennec fox and its predators

The fennec  fox is a small, nocturnal fox that lives in the deserts of North Africa.Fennec foxes are known for their large ears, which are the largest relative to their body size of any candid. These ears help the foxes dissipate heat and listen for prey underground. The average fennec fox is very tiny and only about 8 inches tall and weighs merely 2 to 3 pounds.

The fennec fox has a lifespan of up to 14 years in captivity and about 10 years in the wild. Its main predators are the Verreaux's eagle-owl,jackals and other mammals.

Fennec foxes usually stay in their burrows during the day to reduce the risk of being eaten by predators.Mostly, fennec foxes protect themselves by blending into their surroundings. They live in deserts and their coats are cream or beige in color, which allows them to blend into their surroundings.
