Women and the marathon

 In 1966,the Boston Marathon was only allowed for males.A woman Bobbi Gibb sneaked in and dressed like a man and covered her head with a hoodie.

                         When the race was over she came in 3rd out of 15,000 plus participants but sadly was disqualified (and not recognized as coming in 3rd) by the committee once they found out she was not allowed to be in the event.

                                  The very next year(1967),women were allowed to compete.
