Many vacant homes in Japan

 Japan recorded a record 9.002  million vacant homes (akiya)in its 2023 Housing and Land Survey,13.8% of the country's total housing stock,the highest ever recorded.The increase is driven by an aging population,low birth rates,rural depopulation,and inherited homes that are often left vacant after owners pass away.
