Rue Arthur-Buies in Montreal

 Rue Arthur-Buies in Tetreaultville, Montreal is named after Arthur-Buies(1840-1901),a notable French-Canadian writer, journalist and pamphleter born in Montreal.

       He founded La Lanterne in 1868,a newspaper noted for its radical opposition to politician George-Etienne Cartier.

           As a young man in 1860,he fought for Italy's unification in Garibaldi's troops.
