Travel very challenging within Greenland
In Greenland, each town has its own roads, but the towns are not linked together. There are no roads connecting towns to each other. The harsh landscape, dominated by ice sheets, mountains, fjords and open sea makes road construction between settlements impractical. As a result, people travel between towns by plane, boat, helicopter, dog sled or snowmobile, rather than by car.
Travel and transportation remain challenging within Greenland.
