What cassowaries eat

Cassowaries are primarily frugivores(consuming  fallen fruits from hundreds of rainforest plants, playing a vital role in seed dispersal, but they are omnivores, also eating fungi, insects, snails, small vertebrates(frogs, fish, lizards, eggs, nestlings, small mammals) and even carrion with some supplementing their diet with dirt when food is scarce. They swallow fruits whole, and the seeds often pass through their short digestive tracts, aiding in germination by the process, making cassowaries crucial forest gardeners.
