How misshapen carrots spawned a new food product

 In 1986, California carrot farmer Mike Yourself couldn't sell misshapen carrots,so he cut and peeled them into snack-size "baby-cut" carrots.USDA data show that U.S. carrot use went from about 6.5lb  per person(mid-1980s) to a 1997 peak of 14.l lb per person.
