My appreciation of sumac powder
As a vegetarian I have been using sumac powder in my cooking on and off for a while now.Lately I have grown to love sumac powder more and more.
Recently I made a stew with spinach and potatoes.I stir-fried boiled potatoes and chopped spinach in canola oil with a dash of curry powder,a pinch of salt and a bit of sumac powder.I then ate the spinach and potato stew with Greek bread.The sumac powder certainly did impart a tart,lemony,vibrant flavor to the spinach and potato stew ,making it taste delicious.
