Lipedema

 Lipedema is a chronic condition that causes painful fat deposits and swelling.

       Lipedema could affect one in nine women in Canada or more.Yet many Canadian doctors do not know much about lipedema or have never heard of it.Lipedema is often mistaken for obesity.

              The arms and legs of lipedema sufferers are heavy,swollen and painful from fat deposits.Lipedema is a painful condition that causes asymmetrical buildup of fat and water in the legs,and sometimes in the arms.

           Women with lipedema often wear compression garments as a key part of their treatment plan.Compression therapy helps manage symptoms,slow the progression of the condition, maintain mobility for longer and improve quality of life.
