Vinca minor
Vinca minor is a species of flowering plant in the dogbane family, native to central and southern Europe. It is often called small periwinkle, dwarf periwinkle or common periwinkle. In the U.S. Vinca minor is also called Myrtle or creeping myrtle.
Creeping myrtle is vary hardy and spreads like crazy.Vinca minor is a lovely ground cover.Vinca vine is considered invasive but is lovely en masse and does tend to choke out poison ivy pretty well. Some people have it on their rock wall.
Dwarf periwinkle flowers are blue and grow in a vine.I see vinca minor on many streets in Montreal in May,including Boulevard Saint Joseph in Plateau Mont Royal and de l'Esplanade Avenue between Boulevard Saint Joseph and Mont Royal Avenue.
