An unusual species of rodent

 The Patagonian mara,a unique species is a large rodent native to the open plains and scrublands of Argentina.Despite their rabbit-like appearance, Patagonian cavies are closely related to guinea pigs and capybaras.

                      They are built for speed,with long legs adapted for running and hopping-and they form strong,monogamous pairs,often seen resting or grazing side by side.They truly are fascinating,fast-footed herbivores.
