 Before refrigeration,people in Russia kept milk fresh by placing live brown frogs in it.Later, scientist Albert Lebedev discovered that the frogs'skin secreted antimicrobial substances,which helped prevent bacterial growth,explaining the pervasiveness of this old practice.
