Red dye No.3 now banned in the U.S.

       In January 2025 the FDA in the U.S. banned Red Dye 3 from foods.

      Red dye no 3 is also known as erythrosine.It is a red-pink dye and primarily used in certain food products,such as candy,cakes and cupcakes,cookies,frozen desserts,and frostings.It is a synthetic food dye that gives foods and drinks a bright red color.Red dye no.3 has no nutritional value.

        Red dye 3 is also used for hair coloring,pet products and cosmetics.
