 9-time Olympic champion swimmer Mark Spitz won 7 gold medals in the 1972 summer Olympics in Munich and jokingly told the Russian swim team coach in 1972 that his moustache increased his speed in the water.The next year,every Russian swimmer was sporting a moustache.
