Painful legacy in Jamaica

 There is a painful legacy of slavery in Jamaica and deeply entrenched poverty.Many Jamaicans in 2022 can't wait to cut ties with the colonial past  and sever ties with the British monarchy.

                           Jamaica's beautiful beaches belie ugly truths.Generations of black people toiled on British-owned sugar plantations in Jamaica.No wonder many Jamaicans want to axe the British monarchy.
