Martha Cannon Hughes

Martha Cannon Hughes worked as a doctor,fought for women's rights and helped put women enfranchisement into Utah's constitution.She was a Mormon polygamous wife,and ran against and defeated her own husband in 1896 to become the first female State senator ever elected in the United States.
