Unfairly light jail sentence for cab driver killer in Yellowknife

Ahmad Mahamud Ali,a taxi driver of Somali origin,was 73 years-old when he was murdered by Elias Schiller on November 19,2018 in Yellowknife.
                                    Elias Schiller was 18 years old at the time of the crime.In January 2020,Justice Andrew Mahar sentenced Elias Schiller to only four years in prison,citing Schiller's remorse for his crime,his indigenous background,his troubled upbring,his history of substance abuse and the fact that Elias Schiller suffered a lot of bullying at school because of being overweight.The judge also noticed that Schiller did not have a previous history of crime.
                                     Elias Schiller got off with a very light sentence for committing a horrible crime.He should have gotten 8 to 10 years of a prison sentence at least.
